This one's all about fun and great causes
More than 10,000 people are expected in Kingston this weekend for the annual Kids for Kids hockey tournament.
Co-Founder Garry McColman tells KingstonDaily.ca it's the end of the year tourney for mostly house league teams.
The event, which runs from Friday to Sunday, features 174 teams from Ontario, Quebec, and Nunavut.
McColman says since it began in 1998, the tournament has raised an incredible amount of money for The Boys and Girls Club and the Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit and Pediatrics wing at KGH.
McColman adds the tournament is also an economic bonus for the city and Napanee to the tune of another $2 million.
Close to three thousand players will be competing in divisions from U9 to U18.
