Money raised it supporting local families in need.
The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board is seeing strong support for its second board-wide 50/50 raffle, with the prize pot already topping $30,000 and a few days left to buy tickets.
The virtual fundraiser runs until Friday, June 20, at noon, with one lucky winner taking home half the total jackpot. The other half supports the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic Education (ALCE) Foundation.
The ALCE Foundation helps local students and families in crisis by covering unexpected costs such as eyeglasses, medical supplies, food, clothing, and transportation.
School board officials say the response has been overwhelming and shows how communities can come together to support students in need.
The first 50/50 raffle earlier this year saw a winner walk away with more than $13,000.
Tickets are available online through Rafflebox, and each purchase offers a chance to win while supporting a meaningful cause.
