Statistics show that car thefts are more likely to happen during the winter months
Many folks during the winter months tend to leave their vehicles on and unattended while warming them up before starting their day.
Motorists who don't have remote start and would like to warm up their vehicle before they drive off, are likely to come back to a surprise. Whether it's been stolen or the items inside have, it's a very inconvenient way to start the day.
Many Kingston residents recommend that while you're clearing snow off your vehicle, starting your car while it's attended is a safe option.
Other reasons during the winter months that theft is more common is due to limited visibility. With the shorter days we've been having mornings and evenings are dark.
The best way you can avoid car theft this winter is to never leave your vehicle unlocked while unattended and make sure the alarm is in working condition.
