Have your say on major Highway 401 upgrades near Napanee

A public information session is happening Tuesday from 4pm to 7 pm at Best and Bash Arena.

Residents are being invited to learn more about proposed improvements to Highway 401 between Belleville and Kingston at an upcoming public meeting in Napanee.

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation is hosting a Public Information Centre on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Best and Bash Arena. The session will introduce the project, outline current road conditions, and present possible improvement options.

Officials say the project is focused on long-term transportation needs along the busy corridor. Plans include repairing or replacing bridges and culverts, reviewing interchange designs at seven locations, and preparing for a future expansion from six to eight lanes.

The work is being carried out with support from AECOM Canada Limited as part of two planning and environmental assessment studies.

The study area stretches nearly 55 kilometres between Belleville and Kingston.
