Hate symbols painted on Napanee curling club spark police investigation

The walls of the curling club was recently re-painted.

Police are investigating after racist graffiti was spray-painted on the Napanee and District Curling Club building, including hate messages and a swastika.

The incident occurred on Monday shortly after the wall had been freshly painted as part of a planned rejuvenation project.

The curling club was the last of the Lennox Agricultural Society buildings to receive an update, making the vandalism particularly upsetting for volunteers who worked to improve the fairgrounds.

Police are reviewing surveillance footage in hopes of identifying those responsible for the hate-filled act.

The vandalism has left the community shaken and has raised concerns about safety and respect in public spaces.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Lennox and Addington OPP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) to assist in the investigation.
