The training will take place at the marina on Saturday.
This Saturday in the morning in Gananoque you may notice our local fire service in the frigid waters.
Their annual mandatory ice rescue training will be taking place.
Here's Fire Chief Andrew Dickson
Dickson tells us what drills will be taking place during this session.
The training is necessary as the team needs to be ready at any time.
The public is also welcome to attend Saturday morning and see what our fire service does to be prepared for rescue situations. He also reminds us all to be cautious if you need to go out onto the ice and be prepared.
A reminder that no ice is safe ice.
