Council in the Town of Gananoque moved into new territory at the meeting held on Tuesday night.
All six councillors in a unanimous vote, were all in favor of a No Confidence vote regarding current Mayor John Beddows.
A no confidence vote is the exercising of the confidence convention, a constitutional convention of Canada’s parliamentary system that determines whether an officer is deemed fit to continue holding office.
Town Councillor David Osmond took to social media says quote, This is new and not fun territory for any of us." He went on to thank each member of council for having the courage to speak up and express concerns so professionally.
