Saturday's homecoming game will determine who Queen's will face in the first round of the playoffs.
The Queen's Gaels football team were quite thankful to have not played on the Thanksgiving weekend.
The Gaels (5-2) are coming off a bye week where players and staff were able to relax a bit as they get set to wrap up another OUA season. Their last game was on Oct. 4, a 27-17 win over the Gryphons in Guelph.
Head coach Steve Snyder says they could not have scheduled a better time to have a bye week.
The team is preparing for their final regular season game at home against the Windsor Lancers on Saturday. The Lancers (4-3) are a game back of the Gaels for third place in the standings.
Snyder says the Lancers defense is something they will have to contain in order to come out victorious.
After Windsor, three other teams (Ottawa, McMaster, and Carleton) each sport 3 and 4 records entering the final week of the season. Two more (Guelph and York) sit at 2 and 5.
The Gaels could face one of those teams in the opening round of the playoffs.
Snyder says all they are concerned about is Saturday's game.
The game falls on Queen's University's homecoming weekend. Many alumni of the football program will be at the game.
Snyder says it should be a lively atmosphere at Richardson Stadium.
Kick off is set for 1 pm.
