Last Friday's barbecue at the curling club was organized by the National Association of Federal Retirees.
The National Association of Federal Retirees treated their members in Kingston to a barbecue.
Around 150 people were at the Kingston Curling Club Friday night enjoying burgers, hot dogs and more. They were also offered special deals on products and services from a number of NAFR partners.
President of the Kingston branch Derek Baylis says this is something they like to do for their members.
The Kingston branch is the second largest in Canada with over 3,300 members who have worked in the public sector such as federal public service employees, Canadian Armed Forces veterans, RCMP members, as well as their families.
Baylis says the group's focus is to act on behalf of their members.
Baylis says this was also an opportunity for their members to meet and network with other members.
He says the organization is entirely run by volunteers and they are always looking for volunteers to help.
