A motorist was convicted in a 2024 collision that killed two people on a motorcycle.
A Kingston-area driver has been sentenced following a fatal collision that claimed two lives in 2024.
Kingston Police say the crash happened July 31, 2024, around 11 p.m. on Bath Road, west of Tanner Drive. A westbound vehicle collided with an eastbound motorcycle. A 32-year-old driver and a 22-year-old passenger on the motorcycle died at the scene.
Investigators later located a suspect vehicle on August 10, 2024, and identified those involved. A young person from Kingston was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with failing to remain at the scene and stunt driving.
On March 23, 2026, the accused was sentenced to 60 days in custody, fined $5,000, and handed a two-year driving suspension and probation. Conditions include no driving and 150 hours of community service.
Police say the case used a newer investigative model for serious collisions. Chief Adam MacIntosh praised officers for their work and support provided to the victims’ families.
