Phone search during Kingston drug investigation uncovered evidence

Kingston Police have charged two people with bestiality and animal cruelty after a disturbing investigation involving graphic phone images.
Officers from the Special Services Unit and Technological Crimes Unit reviewed evidence from a previous drug investigation. They found videos showing sexual acts involving a dog.
A 32-year-old man, already facing drug trafficking and proceeds of crime charges, was arrested along with a 25-year-old woman on Friday, May 16. Both are now charged with bestiality and injuring an animal.
The dog has been seized and is safe under the care of Animal Welfare Services. Officials say it will receive proper food, water, medical care, and space to move, as required under Ontario’s PAWS Act.
Police thanked Provincial inspectors for their help and are asking anyone with information to call the Kingston Humane Society or Detective Sergeant Shawn Birney at 613-549-4660 ext. 6323.
