City cites construction challenges as project shifts to late 2027 completion.
Culligan Water Park will not reopen as planned in summer 2027, with the City of Kingston now targeting a late 2027 completion date.
In a statement, the city says substantial completion of the enclosure project is expected by Nov. 22, 2027, with final turnover by the end of December.
Officials say the delay comes as construction continues on the complex project to enclose the existing outdoor facility and convert it into a year-round pool.
The contractor will continue to monitor progress and look for opportunities to accelerate the schedule, if possible, the city said.
The park has been closed since the end of the 2025 season, meaning residents will miss at least two summers of access.
To offset the impact, the city says additional swim time has been arranged at partner facilities for summer 2026, with more options under consideration for 2027.
Once complete, the facility is expected to ease demand and expand year-round aquatic programming.
