It goes Saturday afternoon starting at Kingston Gospel Temple.
We are hours away from the Coldest Night of the Year in Kingston.
Communities across Canada are taking part in this event this Saturday to raise not only money but also awareness of homelessness.
Lionhearts are hosting the event in Kingston. It will kick off at 4 pm outside the Kingston Gospel Temple on Princess St where participants walk 5 kms to the Starbucks inside Indigo at Cataraqui Centre.
Organizers have set a goal of $65,000 and the all the money raised from the Kingston walk stays in the city. They say 86 percent of that goal has been reached.
They say there are 212 walkers participating which is the most they have ever had, and 38 teams which the most since their first walk.
Organizers say they have received donations from across Canada and around the world including Australia, England, Bermuda, Jamaica, and the USA.
