A protest and march was happening in downtown Kingston.
Kingston Police are investigating a near hit and run in the downtown.
A number of people were gathered at Victoria Park for a protest and march Saturday afternoon.
Investigators say people in the march were crossing the intersection of Frontenac St. and Johnson St. when a vehicle driving along Johnson almost struck some of the participants.
They say the vehicle did not stop and continued along Johnson.
Investigators say they were unable to track down the vehicle or its driver.
The Whig-Standard reports that the protest was over the federal government's policy on climate change.
There were no reports of injuries.
