Last day of operation will be next Monday.
The City of Kingston are closing their administrative office at the Kingston Area Recycling Centre.
The office on Lappen's Lane will be permanently closed as of next Tuesday (Sept. 30). The last day of operation is Monday (Sept. 29) from 8 am to 4 pm.
In a news release, the City says this will mean garbage bag tags will no longer be sold at KARC.
There is a tent already set up at KARC to allow residents to pick up green bins, kitchen catchers and FOG (fat, oil, grease) cups, as well as to drop off recycling, batteries and lightbulbs until the end of 2025.
They say there should be no service interruption expected.
The closure of the administrative office comes as the City continues the transition of collecting recyclable materials to a third party.
