The City of Kingston is asking the public to select which artwork will be on display at the Robert Bruce Memorial Parking Lot.
The next Picaso or Da Vinci could be shown at a downtown parking lot.
The City of Kingston is inviting the public to give their thoughts on displaying works of art on the exterior of the Robert Bruce Memorial Parking Garage.
In a news release, the project is part of the City’s Public Art Program and aims to enhance the recently upgraded garage and create a vibrant, welcoming space in Kingston’s downtown core.
The City says the installed artwork will be visible from street level to pedestrians, transit users, and others passing through the busy corridor.
The City held a focus group discussion last fall on the scope, goals and themes for the project.
Four artists out of the 41 submissions the City received are on the shortlist: Aaron Forsyth, Abby Gowland, Frank DeSa, and Portia ‘Po’ Chapman.
The public can view the submissions and complete the feedback survey on the Get Connected Kingston website before June 19 at 4 pm.
