Level Up! is holding 12 open houses across Ontario.
Kingston is hosting an event aimed at attracting students to the skilled trades.
Level Up! Skilled Trades Career Fair is happening next Tuesday (Sept 29) at Slush Puppie Place from 3 pm to 7:30 pm.
This the fifth year that the Province is hosting these events that are open to students from Grades 7 to 12. There are 12 that are taking place across Ontario including Kingston.
There will be hands-on demonstrations, exhibits and conversations with employers, unions and training providers.
In a news release, the free community open houses will give parents, guardians and jobseekers a firsthand look at the skilled trades and an opportunity to learn about apprenticeship pathways, skills training and good-paying career opportunities in the skilled trades.
The province believes these fairs will inspire the next generation of workers to build the homes, highways, hospitals, schools and critical infrastructure that the province needs.
