Smile Cookie week to support Inclusive Play Project’s nearly funded playground.
The Inclusive Play Project says a popular fundraiser could help push its community playground project across the finish line.
The group has been named the 2026 beneficiary of the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign in Kingston. From April 27 to May 3, local Tim Hortons restaurants will donate 100 per cent of Smile Cookie proceeds to the Jumpstart Inclusive Playground.
Founder Rachel Doornekamp says small purchases can have a big impact, helping ensure every child feels welcome.
The project aims to create a space where children of all abilities can play together.
Organizers say fundraising has reached about 92 per cent of the $1.5-million goal.
Doornekamp says this campaign is their last push.
A media launch is planned for April 22, with volunteers decorating cookies ahead of the campaign.
Residents can also help by volunteering, placing bulk orders or buying cookies during the week-long fundraiser.
