40 percent of residents in a survey would prefer an increase somewhere between 1 and 3 percent.
South Frontenac is beginning the new year preparing for the 2026 budget.
The Township recently announced that they will be starting deliberations.
They said in a news release that the budget is considered to be one of the Township's most important strategic documents.
They added that the pristine parks and beaches, garbage collection, and the plowing of roads are examples of tax dollars at work.
Last month, they revealed the results of a survey on the upcoming budget.
It points out that 40.45 percent of respondents would like to see a reasonable increase in property taxes. More than 77 percent say a reasonable increase is between one and 2.9 percent.
