They announced an expansion of programs and services that will start in the fall.
There is a new before-school program at the Boy and Girls Club in Kingston.
The south east chapter announced that they are expanding their services at their west-end location starting this September.
One of them is a before-school program for kids ages 4 to 12 that starts at 7:30 am.
In a news release, the new program stems from family requests and the need for both morning and afternoon care, or only before-school for some parents.
CEO Harold Parson said in a statement that program will provide more support for parents that work early or need a couple extra hours of child-care in the morning.
He went on to say that they are always looking to fill the gaps when children are out of school, and have been
supporting this through after-school, evening, and camp programs.
Tri-Board Transportation will be available for those attending schools within the west end location catchment area.
Parents are asked to register directly with Tri-Board to sign up their children for transportation at https://triboard.ca/online-transportation-application/.
As a pilot for the 2025-2026 school year, BGC transportation will also be provided from the program directly to Welborne & Henderson Public Schools, with the potential of expansion.
