A 27-year-old Kingston man is facing a number of charges.
A Kingston man is facing charges after trying to rob a local gas station with a fake gun.
Police were called to the gas station in the area of Bath Road and Concession Street around 8:30 am Tuesday.
Investigators say a man was seen in the gas pump area waving what appeared to be a white handgun.
They say the individual pointed the weapon at the front glass of the gas bar then aimed it towards several objects on the property.
The man fled before police arrived but was arrested a short time later.
Investigators say the white handgun turned out to be an imitation cut from a plastic container.
They say a further investigation revealed the man was under a release order bound by several conditions including not possessing weapons of any kind, real or fake.
The 27-year-old was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing.
