People can drop off electronic waste, household battery, textile, and non-perishable food to the Amherstview Fire Station this Saturday.
Loyalist Township is hosting an electronic waste, household battery, textile, and food drive in Amherstview on Saturday, October 18, 2025. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Amherstview Fire Station, 363 Amherst Drive.
The community drive encourages residents to dispose of electronic waste and household batteries safely while supporting local charities. Community partners, including the Loyalist Community Sharing Centre and the Amherstview Lions Club, will collect gently used textiles and non-perishable food items.
Residents can drop off batteries, cell phones, computers, cords, monitors, printers, TVs, audio/video systems, gaming consoles, medical equipment, and more. All items will be safely handled and recycled by Loyalist Township staff. Participants are reminded to remove personal data from electronic devices before dropping them off.
Mayor Jim Hegadorn said the event supports environmental protection and conserving natural resources. The drive will run rain or shine, with staff on-site to assist with unloading and recycling. More information is available on the Loyalist Township website.
