A pair of Frontenacs players selected in the NHL draft

Kieren Dervin went to Vancouver while Toronto picked up Tyler Hopkins.

Two players on the Kingston Frontenacs had their names called at the NHL draft over the weekend.

Rounds 2 to 7 were held on day two of the draft on Saturday.

Forward Kieren Dervin was taken by the Vancouver Canucks in the third round, 65th overall.

The 18-year-old from Gloucester, Ont. spent a majority of the 2024-2025 hockey season with St. Andrew's College.

He played in 10 games with the Frontenacs with a goal and 2 assists, was a +2.

Dervin also appeared in 11 games in the playoffs and also scored a goal and added 2 assists.

Another forward, Tyler Hopkins, was taken later in the round by the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The 18-year-old was selected with the 86th overall pick.

Hopkins had 20 goals and added 31 assists in 67 games for the Frontenacs in his second season in the OHL.

The Campbellville, Ont. native also had 4 assists in 5 playoff games.

The Frontenacs open the 2025-2026 OHL season at home Friday Sept. 19 at 7:05 pm.
