Don Amos will be back to serve another four-year term on council.

This is a series of profiles of the candidates running in this year's municipal election in Kingston.

Today, we are highlighting District 5 - Portsmouth.

Perhaps the most historic part of Kingston among the 12 districts, Portsmouth is home to the Kingston Peniteniary, Portsmouth Olympic Harbour, and Lake Ontario Park. St. Lawrence College's Kingston campus is there as well as the west campus of Queen's University.

Portsmouth is one of two districts (Williamsville being the other) that will not have an election for district councillor. Don Amos will return to serve another four-year term on City Council after he was acclaimed on August 21.
