Modern Taxi claimed they have not been paid from KATC for delivering the accessible service since Nov. 6.
Problems continue to plague the Kingston and Area Taxi Commission (KATC).
The latest issue is their Accessible Taxi Program that sees passengers with mobility issues take a taxi to anywhere in the city for a flat $3.50 fare.
A report is coming to City Council on Tuesday after Modern Taxi, the company that is administering the program, contacted the City claiming they had not been paid by the commission since Nov. 6.
Cllr. Brandon Tozzo, who resigned from the KATC in August over transparency issues, says what he read from the report does not come as a surprise to him.
The report suggest the City take over the program from KATC in order to save it.
Tozzo says there hasn't been any cooperation coming from the commission's end.
KingstonDaily.ca also tried to reach someone at KATC for a comment but did not hear back from them by our deadline.
Tozzo also led the charge to dissolve the commission back in August and the City will take over the licensing and governance of taxi companies next September.
There was a divide among Council back then over whether the commission should be dissolved.
But Tozzo believes there shouldn't be any issue over his idea to have the City take over the Accessible Taxi Program.
