Driver charged after refusing breath test in Loyalist Township

Accused was released pending their court date

A 42-year-old driver is facing charges after allegedly refusing to provide a breath sample during a traffic stop.

Lennox and Addington OPP responded around 10 p.m. on Jan. 31 after a concerned citizen reported a possibly impaired driver. Officers stopped a vehicle on County Road 2 and charged Taylor Samis of Loyalist Township with refusal to provide a breath sample.

The accused was released with a court date set for Feb. 18 in Greater Napanee. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
