The Frontenacs have a chance to overtake the Ice Dogs for 6th place in the Eastern Conference.
The Kingston Frontenacs have officially punched their ticket to the Ontario Hockey League playoffs — and now attention turns to where they will finish.
Before hosting the Brampton Steelheads on March 6, Kingston secured a postseason berth thanks to a Brampton loss earlier in the week. The team's Colton Robb says the team entered the game with confidence already in place.
The Fronts followed that news with a perfect weekend at home, defeating Brampton 2–1 on Friday and the rival Oshawa Generals 3–2 on Sunday.
Kingston currently sits seventh in the Eastern Conference, just one point behind the Niagara IceDogs with six games left. Robb says the race for sixth is wide open and could determine a first-round opponent.
Rookie Nolan Snyder was named OHL Rookie of the Week after recording a goal and three assists.
A key road matchup against Niagara could shift the standings.
Kingston has two regular-season home games remaining before playoffs begin.
Fans can listen to every game, home and away on New Country 98.9 with Jim Gilchrist calling the action.
