The Kingston Frontenacs are rolling after sweeping their OHL Rivalry Week series against the Ottawa 67’s.
Kingston opened the weekend with a 4-2 win Friday at Slush Puppie Place before dominating Ottawa 6-1 Sunday in the capital.
Adam Goljer scored twice Friday, Cole Zurawski added two assists and Royden Smith made 26 saves.
Sunday brought an even stronger finish. Kingston scored six unanswered goals after falling behind early, with Nolan Buttar scoring twice and Nolan Snyder adding a goal and an assist.
Smith was again a major factor.
The two victories gave Kingston seven wins in its last nine games and moved the Frontenacs into third place in the OHL Power Rankings.
The offence remains one of the league’s best, but What’s Good co-host Jack Clark says another part of Kingston’s game is catching up.
There was more good news away from the standings.
Six Frontenacs were included on NHL Central Scouting’s latest list for the 2027 draft.
Aleks Kulemin received an ‘A’ rating, with Nolan Snyder and Royden Smith receiving ‘C’ ratings. Matthew Henderson, Dante D’Andrea and Gavin Christie were also placed on the watch list.
Clark says Kulemin’s rating puts him firmly in the conversation as a high-end draft prospect.
Kingston now stays home for two games this weekend.
Peterborough visits Friday for Halloween Game Night. Fans are being encouraged to wear costumes and take part in a red carpet during the second intermission. It is also Bring Your Own Popcorn Bucket Night, with containers of up to 250 ounces accepted for the promotion.
Brantford visits Sunday for the first Fronts Bingo Game.
The Frontenacs enter the weekend with momentum, improved defensive play and several young players attracting attention well beyond the OHL.
