The waiting is almost over for the Kingston Frontenacs as the 2026-27 OHL regular season gets underway Thursday.
Kingston finished the preseason 2-1 following a 4-3 victory in its final tune-up. One of the newest Frontenacs, Brody Cook, wasted little time making an impression by scoring in the win.
Kingston acquired Cook from the London Knights for a 2028 fifth-round pick. The 19-year-old played 57 games with London last season, recording six goals and 18 points.

Kingston will begin the season without some players who are getting opportunities at the next level.
The Frontenacs open Thursday in Peterborough before returning to Slush Puppie Place Sunday against Ottawa.
