Skating, snow tubing and s’mores highlight a family-friendly afternoon at the Frontenac Community Arena.
Families are invited to bundle up and make lasting memories at South Frontenac Township’s Family Day 2026 celebration.
Recreation and Events Coordinator, Amanda Pantrey tells us more.
The free community event takes place Monday, Feb. 16, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Frontenac Community Arena in Godfrey. Designed for all ages, the afternoon encourages families to spend quality time together while enjoying classic winter fun. Pantrey says that there's both indoor and outdoor activities, here are some of the indoor activites you can take part in if you need to warm up during this day of fun.
Activities include free public skating, snow tubing with tubes provided, outdoor games and horse-drawn wagon rides. Families can warm up around outdoor fire pits with s’mores, enjoy hot chocolate, or take part in face painting and indoor activities throughout the arena. Pantrey tells residents to bring their skates!
Admission and all activities are free, making it an easy way for families to enjoy the holiday without added costs. The arena canteen will be open and will accept cash and debit. Pantrey thanks the community and volunteers for helping make this celebration come together.
Organizers say the event is about bringing neighbours together, celebrating winter, and creating memories families will talk about long after Family Day ends.
