Stride Academy is hosting an event this Thursday at St. Genevieve Catholic Elementary School.
Stride Academy in Kingston is holding a World Autism Day celebration.
It brings community partners and families in a celebration that aims to bring connection, joy, and creating a space where neurodiversity is championed and everyone belongs.
The Clinical Director at Stride Academy, Laura Campbell, tell us what World Autism Day entails.
World Autism Day is on Thursday, Apr 2. The event in Kingston is taking place that day at the St. Genevieve Catholic Elementary School on Holden Rd north of Cataraqui Woods Dr from 4:30 pm to 6 pm.
Campbell says there will be plenty of things to do there.
Several community partners including local school boards, Maltby Centre, Children’s Wellness Centre, and BGC South East are taking part in this event.
Campbell says there is at least one person in Canada who knows someone that has autism.
Campbell hopes people will learn more about autism and embrace everything that is has to offer.
