Agatha Christie thriller brings twists and tension to Kingston stage.
Domino Theatre is set to thrill audiences with Witness for the Prosecution, Agatha Christie’s classic courtroom drama running Oct. 16 to Nov. 1, 2025.
The suspenseful play follows Leonard Vole, accused of murdering a wealthy woman, as shocking revelations unfold in a tense London courtroom. With Christie’s trademark twists and turns, no one, not even the audience, can be sure who to trust.
The production stars Martin Fobert as Leonard Vole, Eva Hayes as his mysterious wife Romaine, Barry Yuen as defence barrister Sir Wilfred Robarts, Anne Marie Bergman as prosecutor Ms. Myers, and John Geddes as Justice Wainwright. Martin Fobert describes his character.
Fobert says stepping into the role of a man fighting for his life is both thrilling and fascinating. He adds that director James Gow made the creative decision to have the audience act as the jury, creating a more immersive experience.
The actor says Agatha Christie’s writing brings layers of suspense and psychological depth to the stage.
Performances take place at Domino Theatre, 52 Church Street, with evening shows at 7:30 p.m. and a closing matinee on Nov. 1 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are available through the Domino Theatre website and the Grand Theatre Box Office. Visit www.dominotheatre.com for details.
