What's Good in Kingston: Wicked Welborne

Wicked Welborne turns Welborne Avenue into a Halloween wonderland for kids and families.

Family Halloween fun coming to Welborne Avenue

Wicked Welborne 2025 will bring Halloween fun to Kingston on October 31 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., transforming Welborne Avenue into a safe, family-friendly trick-or-treat zone. The free community event is designed for kids and families to enjoy Halloween together. Event founder Alice Nelson Palmer says this is their first year hosting the celebration.

The evening will feature Trunk-or-Treat stations, a lively costume contest, food trucks, family entertainment, and food bank collection points to support local needs. Nelson Palmer says the food bank was one of the first things she considered when planning the event.

Organizers say the street will be closed to traffic, creating a walkable Halloween festival atmosphere perfect for young trick-or-treaters. Nelson Palmer says the event is intended to create lasting memories for kids.

Hundreds are expected to attend this year’s Wicked Welborne, which has grown into one of Kingston’s favourite Halloween celebrations. Families are encouraged to wear costumes and arrive early for the fun. Alice Nelson Palmer says, "if you're in the Henderson neighbourhood be sure to check it out!"
