What's Good in Kingston: Walk to Remember returns to Lake Ontario Park

Families and friends will come together in Kingston on Sunday September 27th for the annual Walk to Remember, hosted by Bereaved Families of Ontario – Kingston Region.

The memorial event takes place at Lake Ontario Park and features a scenic two-kilometre family-friendly walk along the waterfront. Registration opens at 3 pm and the walk begins at 3:30 pm. This year's Walk Chair, Anne Dumais, explains the importance of this event.

Participants are invited to remember loved ones who have died by bringing a photo for the Wall of Memories, creating memorial crafts, or using a Wind Phone to speak to someone they have lost.
Organizers say the event is open to everyone and provides an opportunity for people experiencing grief to connect with others in the community.

Participants can register individually or as a team. Fundraising is not required, although donations are appreciated. Dumais notes that there are few no-cost resources for those who are grieving, bringing the need to fundraise.

However, she stresses that having pledges, or being able to drop something in the collection bucket aren't prerequisites for participation. Advance registration is encouraged to help organizers prepare for attendance.
More information and registration details can be found at bfo-kingston.ca under the events tab.
