The Wild Edge’s Midday Sit Spot Club invites people to slow down, reconnect with nature and support their well-being through a guided outdoor practice.
A weekly nature-based gathering at Lake Ontario Park is encouraging Kingston residents to step away from busy schedules and spend time outdoors to reduce stress and improve focus.
The Wild Edge’s Midday Sit Spot Club offers a guided 30-minute nature pause each week. The program, led by founder and certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide Claire Beach, is designed to help participants slow down, unplug and reconnect with both nature and themselves.
The practice centres on a “sit spot,” a location outdoors that people return to regularly to sit quietly and observe their surroundings. Beach says the simple routine can help regulate the nervous system, calm the mind and create a greater sense of balance.
Beach said modern life often leaves people feeling overstimulated and disconnected from natural rhythms. The weekly gatherings aim to provide a dedicated space for participants to breathe, reflect and become more present.
The event takes place at Lake Ontario Park, 920 King St. W., and is part of The Wild Edge’s mission to bring nature-based wellness practices into the community.
