Helping rural residents thrive
Chartered in 1949, the Verona Lion's Club has been active in this small community with plenty of fundraising events and activities. President Pat Joslin explains what they're all about
One of their major events is happening this summer as Pat reports
The event takes place at their property at 4504 Verona Sand Road in Verona. Pat notes why it's important for everyone to support the great work that the Verona Lions Club does.
At the Charter Banquet in 1949, Verona Lions first President, Lorne Genge said, “I hope it will be said some day that Verona is a better place to live, work and play because of its Lions Club.”
Over three-quarters of a century later their members can proudly say that Lorne’s hope has been fulfilled, and they add their own hope that it will continue for many years to come.
