Testing is underway so we can stay cool on these hot summer days
The South East Health Unit's conducting water testing at local beaches once again.
Deputy Medical Officer of Health Dr. Linna Li stresses their testing is just a snapshot of time, so it's important to use your own common sense.
Li also said something to keep an eye on is blue-green algae.
Public Health Inspector Sarah Burris says it's important to remain vigilant and use common sense when considering a summer swim at a beach, lake, or any body of water.
Li says their water testing is accurate when the sample's taken, but is usually outdated by the time the result comes in as water conditions change daily, so it's important to use your best judgement before heading in for a swim.
