The Queen's graduate and JUNO award winner helped built a national following through music, live shows, and a successful children’s TV presence.
Taes Leavitt is a Canadian children’s entertainer, educator, and award-winning creator, best known as one half of the popular musical duo Splash'N Boots.
A graduate of Queen's University, she co-founded the duo with partner Nick Adams in 2003, building a national following through music, live shows, and a successful children’s TV presence. A two-time JUNO Award winner, Leavitt has emerged as a leading voice in children’s emotional wellness, creating the “Big Heart Journey,” a program that uses music and mindfulness to help kids understand and express their feelings.
Leavitt describes how Big Heart Journey started.
Getting children to open up about their emotions might seem like a daunting task, but Leavitt says creating a safe space is key.
On the risks to children from social media and excessive screen time, Leavitt says parents need to do their research and act to protect them.
She adds that parents sharing research with their children is key to getting their cooperation. Find out more about Leavitt's methods and successes at BigHeartJourney.com.
