Concert combines live Celtic music, heritage exhibits and homemade treats inside one of Kingston's oldest museums.
Kingston residents will have the chance to experience an evening of music and local history as Murney Tower Museum hosts Tunes in the Tower: A Night of Celtic Music on Saturday, July 11.
The event will feature live music by Kevin & the Kitchen Sink from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m. at the historic museum on King Street West.
Programming and communications coordinator Alexa Grandy explains more.
Guests will enjoy Celtic favourites performed with vocals, guitar, tin whistle and bagpipes while surrounded by the museum's limestone walls. Admission also includes access to Murney Tower Museum's newest exhibits and complimentary homemade heritage treats inspired by historic recipes. Grandy says the tower is surprisingly a great place for concerts.
Tickets cost $30 per person and include the concert, museum admission and refreshments.
Murney Tower Museum, operated by the Kingston Historical Society in partnership with Parks Canada, is Kingston's oldest operating museum and part of the UNESCO-designated Rideau Canal and Kingston Fortifications World Heritage Site.
