What's Good in Kingston: Relay for Life

Queen's students are taking part in the annual fundraiser for cancer research.

Preparations are underway for the upcoming Relay for Life event in Kingston.

Queen's University is hosting the fundraiser at the ARC on the main campus Friday Mar 20.

Relay for Life is a 12-hour all-night event where participants walk around a track in unison to raise money for cancer research.

Head recruitment coordinator Ella Johnson says there are more things that participants can take in.

Recruitment coordinator Daniel Nies says over 600 have signed up for the walk and believe they will hit their fundraising goal.

The Relay for Life event at Queen's is one of 415 happening across Canada.

Johnson says while this is a Queen's event, it is open to everyone in and around the Kingston area.

Nies says they are encouraging survivors to come down and share their experiences with others.
