What's Good in Kingston: Rare roadsters roll into Kingston for historic Canadian gathering

More than 140 Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky sports cars will tour southeastern Ontario while raising money for Dawn House

More than 140 rare Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky roadsters are set to arrive in the Kingston region this week as the North American Solstice and Sky Annual Meet (NASSAM) makes history with its first-ever Canadian event. The 21st annual gathering runs from June 21 to 27 and is expected to bring visitors from across Canada and the United States.

Event organizer Terry Pitts says he is pleased to host the meet in Kingston.

Participants will travel throughout southeastern Ontario, including Prince Edward County, the Thousand Islands, Peterborough and Calabogie, giving local businesses, restaurants and attractions a tourism boost.

The public can get a close look at the vehicles during a free family-friendly car show on Wednesday, June 24, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Cataraqui Centre, 945 Gardiners Rd. Organizers say it will be one of the largest gatherings of Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky roadsters in North America.

Pitts says that the cars may not be expensive but they do have character.

The week also includes scenic driving tours, technical workshops, social events and visits to local attractions showcasing the Kingston area's history and tourism opportunities.

Pitts says that NASSAM chooses a charity every year to support.

NASSAM 2026 is supporting Dawn House through fundraising activities during the event, with proceeds helping the Kingston organization provide shelter, support and resources for women experiencing homelessness and other challenges.
