The Princess Street Promenade returns this summer with shopping, live entertainment and family-friendly activities in downtown Kingston.

Downtown Kingston will once again transform into a pedestrian-friendly festival as the Princess Street Promenade returns for two dates this summer.

The popular one-day event will take place on Saturday, June 20, and again on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., turning Princess Street into a lively destination for shopping, entertainment and community activities.

Summer marketing and events student, Julia Nash explains more.

More than 100 local businesses and community groups are expected to take part, offering outdoor displays, exclusive one-day sales, games, live music and hands-on activities for visitors of all ages. Nash says that this staple event opens up the downtown.

Organizers say the Princess Street Promenade is designed to encourage active living while showcasing the best of downtown Kingston. The event has become a favourite for residents and visitors, with many returning each year to experience the unique atmosphere and discover local shops and organizations.

Nash says that there will be a change for the September Promenade

Admission is free, and organizers say there will be something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day.
