Frontenacs gear up for rare playoff clash with Ottawa 67’s.
The Kingston Frontenacs are heading into the Ontario Hockey League playoffs riding momentum after a strong finish to the regular season.
Kingston closed the year with 71 points and secured the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. Director of Ticketing and Marketing Strategies Colton Robb says the late push helped the club move up the standings.
Discipline could be a key factor. Robb says Kingston certainly displayed they are capable of keeping things in check.
Robb says strong goaltending and contributions from young players also helped drive the team’s success.
Robb also says the matchup carries extra significance for the 401/416 rivals.
Games one and two will be played in Ottawa before the series shifts to Kingston for games three and four at Slush Puppie Place.
Fans are expected to pack the arena as playoff hockey returns to the city.
