Kingston museum offers hands-on activities, a new children’s gallery and a special talk during March of the Museums.
Families looking for something fun to do during March Break can step into a world of mythology and medicine at the Canadian Museum of Health Care.
The museum is hosting “A Fantastical Medical Bestiary” from March 16th to 20th as part of March of the Museums. The temporary exhibit explores the connection between medicine, natural history and myth, featuring legendary creatures such as unicorns, mermaids and dragons. Programs and communications coordinator Anna Collett explains more.
Visitors can also get an exclusive first look at the museum’s newly renovated Children’s Gallery. The space features new interactive activities designed for families and young visitors.
Children can build their own mythical creatures, including dragons, unicorns and mermaids, and create a special “mythological potion” inspired by their designs. Collett says visitors can also find a hidden surprise throughout the museum.
For one week only, admission to the museum will be free. The event runs daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and no registration is required.
Organizers say the event offers a creative way for families to explore history, science and imagination together during the school break.
