What's Good in Kingston: Kingston celebrating Canada Day in style

Many would argue, and they'd be right, that there's no better place to celebrate Canada Day than Kingston, Canada's first capital city.

The official Canada Day celebrations will take place at Confederation Park and Springer Market Square.

Ashley Bradshaw of Tourism Kingston gives us some of the highlights of the day.

Musical artists appearing on the Day at Confederation Park will include Los Garcias, Breakwater Brass, Hold the Door!, Mauricio and the Latin Beat Band, and Big Phat Horn Band.  The kid's zone will include inflatables, a climbing wall, face-painting and more. On the market side of City Hall Amphitheatre you'll be entertained by magician Rob Driscoll, Limbo dancing with Fire10 Entertainment, a country line dancing and Latin dance workshop from Ground UP Dance Festival. There will also be a full menu of local musicians performing acoustic sets in the licensed beer garden presented by Downtown Kingston.

Bradshaw says there's plenty of reasons to stay and visit Kingston this Canada Day.

Street parking is free for Canada Day but everyone is encouraged to use public transit and you can use the City's handy trip planner found at kingstontransit.ca/trip-planner. Find all the details on making this Canada Day one to remember at cityofkingston.ca.
