Look no further than the Kingston and Frontenac Public Library for all the answers to keep parents and children engaged in some great activities for this summer's school break without breaking the bank.
Whether you have children just starting or learning to read, or teens, the KFPL is the place to bet. They've got reading contests, creative workshops, gaming and social activities, and so much more across the more than a dozen branches throughout the city and Frontenac County. Liz Coates, Manager of Programming and Outreach gives us a sample of what's in store.
The KFPL will see lots of special visitors this summer, including exotic animals, local musicians and magicians to help expand horizons for every interest. And of course all of these events and programs are free with a library card. Teens will be matched with younger readers in a reading-buddy program sure to get everyone falling in love with books. Another popular, but not widely known, feature of KFPL is their parks and museums passes lending system. Coates explains.
There are also passes for local and Ottawa museums and galleries, even including passes to the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto. To find all the details, go to kfpl.ca and let your summer adventures begin!
