Two full calendars make it easier for residents to join activities close to home.
KFL&A Gets Active Month is back this April, offering two full calendars of free activities for residents across Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington.
The annual initiative, which began as Kingston Gets Active Month, has expanded to include more communities across the region. Organizers say the growth reflects a stronger regional focus and increased participation in recent years.
Kingston Gets Active Co-Coordinator, Kristin Cote says this month long event is free.
She also says that this is the perfect opportunity to get out of the winter slump.
This year, 23 community partners are working together to deliver a wide range of activities for all ages and abilities. Events include hiking, yoga, Pilates, swimming, skating, curling and workshops such as bike repair and learning about horses. Cote explains where you can find the activites offered.
Activities are split into two calendars — one for Kingston and another for Frontenac, Lennox and Addington — making it easier for residents to find events nearby.
Organizers say the month aims to reduce financial barriers and encourage people to try new activities at no cost, while promoting long-term healthy lifestyles and community connections.
The program is supported by local partners and funders, including Kawartha Financial Services and Loyalist Township.
