This year's event in Kingston goes November 14 at the INVISTA Centre.
The National organization, Hockey Helps the Homeless is back in Kingston for another thrilling version of their uniquely Canadian fundraiser.
Their Emma Langlois gives us the details.
Since their launch 30 years ago, Hockey Helps the Homeless has raised over $33M to help shutout homelessness. Their over 20K donors, 3K players, and 1K volunteers play together with purpose and 100% of proceeds stay in the city they are raised in.
Emma says it takes two very important groups to pull things off successfully.
The day starts on the 14th at 7 am with registrations and 16 teams are already signed up. The puck drops for the first game at 8 am and the action continues until 5 pm with a great raffle for some exciting Tragically Hip themed prizes.
There's no charge for spectators, although donations are graciously accepted.
Emma reports it's a great way to support people at risk in a truly Canadian way.
The Invista Centre is located at 1350 Gardiners Road and you can find more details at HockeyHelpstheHomeless.com.
Their goal is $150K for St Vincent de Paul Society and Kingston Interval House and volunteers can help make it a reality. It's a no-body contact event with only elbows raised against homelessness.
