What's Good in Kingston: Earth-Fest

New Earth celebration comes to Kingston.

Kingston will mark Canadian Environment Week by hosting Earth-Fest, a family-oriented festival in Confederation Park on Saturday, June 6 from 10 am to 5 pm.

One of the organizers Judi Wyatt explains what's happening.

Earth-Fest is a community event for all ages with information booths, activities and music. The goal is to remind those who attend how much our planet and climate is valued.

There will be live music throughout the day. The nature booths will include information about bees, turtles, birds, Monarch butterflies, and community gardens. Experts will provide information about climate threats and solutions, including heat pumps and electric vehicles.

Activities for families include engaging with a puppeteer who is an environmental champion, T-shirt painting, story time, button making, face painting, a selfie booth, and booth welcoming babies born in 2025 and their families.

Team member Diane Fitsell tells us about which groups are supporting this event.

Fitsell tells us that with less focus on climate-change recently, this event is meant to reignite our passion for the planet.
