Three organizations benefitting from fundraising boat cruise in Kingston
There is a special boat cruise in Kingston to raise money for first responders, victim services, and those living with neuromuscular disorders.
Cruising for a Cause is taking place on July 23 aboard the Island Queen.
This is organized by the Kingston office of 1-800BOARDUP, a restoration company that specializes in cleaning up damage caused by fire.
Director of Emergency Services for Eastern Ontario Kevin Welsh says it will be a great evening with a two-hour trip along the St. Lawrence River from the Crawford Wharf starting at 6:30 pm.
The money raised with go to help 3 organizations: Victim Services of Kingston & Frontenac, Muscular Dystrophy Canada, and the Canadian Fallen Firefighter Foundation.
Welsh says these three are near and dear to his heart as well as the business.
Welsh says Kingston has a beautiful waterfront and that was part of the motivation to have this cruise.
This fundraiser is part of a broader initiative involving 1-800BOARDUP offices across North America.
Tickets for Cruising for a Cause can be purchased by going to their Facebook page.
